1. What Vigila is
Vigila monitors network devices running RouterOS and notifies you when a rule you configured is triggered. It is a monitoring aid for people who administer their own networks. You are responsible for the devices you monitor, the credentials you give the app, and the rules you configure.
2. Alert delivery is best-effort
This is the most important thing on this page. An alert reaching your phone depends on a chain in which we operate exactly one link:
- your routers being reachable and answering correctly,
- your own network and internet connection,
- your self-hosted relay, if you run one — its host, its power, its uptime,
- the Vigila bridge, which forwards encrypted alerts,
- Apple Push Notification service, and
- your device — its connectivity, battery, notification settings, and the way iOS schedules background work.
We do not guarantee that any particular alert will be delivered, or delivered within any particular time. A failure anywhere in that chain can delay an alert or prevent it entirely. Your relay retains undelivered alerts and retries them for a bounded period, which turns most short interruptions into late alerts rather than missing ones — but that is a mitigation, not a promise.
3. Not for safety-critical use
Vigila is not designed, tested, or certified for use where a missed or delayed alert could cause injury, loss of life, environmental harm, or significant property damage. Do not rely on it for medical, life-support, emergency-response, industrial control, or similar purposes. If an outage in what you monitor carries consequences of that kind, use monitoring built and warranted for it, with redundancy that does not share Vigila's delivery path.
4. Availability
The Vigila bridge is a hosted service offered without an uptime commitment. We maintain backups, monitoring and a documented recovery procedure, and we will restore service as promptly as we reasonably can — but there is no service level agreement, and we may take the service down for maintenance. The rest of Vigila runs on hardware you own and is unaffected by our availability, apart from push delivery.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep your devices, your relay and its host reasonably secure and up to date.
- Only monitor and control devices you are authorised to administer.
- Enabling "Allow control" grants Vigila permission to enable or disable interfaces on that router. Those are real changes to a real network; you own the consequences.
- Verify that alerts actually reach you after you set them up, and re-verify after changing devices, reinstalling, or changing notification settings.
6. Purchases
Vigila Pro is a one-time in-app purchase sold through Apple. Payment, refunds and billing are handled by Apple under their terms; we cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests go to Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. Features included in a purchase may change, but we will not remove a feature you have already paid for without offering an equivalent.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Vigila — including lost revenue, lost data, downtime, or damage resulting from an alert that was delayed or never delivered. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional or grossly negligent conduct, or your statutory rights as a consumer under Czech and EU law. If you are a consumer, those rights apply regardless of anything written here.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use Vigila after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protections of your own country's mandatory consumer law.
